American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers. The Red Cross will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The Red Cross has a strong history with the Office of Emergency Preparedness. During the 2008 Gustav evacuation, Red Cross provided water, snacks, and MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) for tens of thousands of evacuees.
