City-Assisted Evacuation (CAE)

CAE is the free and public evacuation option available in Orleans Parish, developed by the Office of Homeland Security and New Orleans Fire Department following Hurricane Katrina. Anyone who is unable to leave during a mandatory evacuation may use CAE to get a free ride to a safe shelter. CAE also provides for a ride home once the city is re-opened.

SPread the word

Whether or not you decide to volunteer with us, we still need you! People power is our greatest resource, and we need advocates in our community to share information about hurricane preparedness to their neighbors and loved ones. We're happy to provide you with brochures, handouts, and other promotional material!
